Using Less Water

Although newly planted areas need water to help them survive and prosper, the automatic irrigation system is designed to get water to the plants where, and when, they need it. Water needs for plants vary day by day. On hot dry days a considerable amount of water is lost from the soil through evaporation, and from plant transpiration. The irrigation system is designed to supplement these losses. Soil moisture is tested and the irrigation system adjusts automatically to provide only the amount of water that is needed.
